Who is your real hero in life? Who is your idol growing up? Who do you look up to for advice? Fathers are the real heroes in our lives growing up. We always look up to them for guidance, support, values and also fun.

They keep pampering everyone all around the year without expecting any or much attention for themselves. Let’s take out some time today to celebrate them on this auspicious occasion of Father’s Day as they also deserve their share of pampering. We wish all the fathers around the world a very Happy Father’s Day!


The day was founded in USA ,where it is celebrated on the third sunday of June, at the Spokane, Washington YMCA in 1910 by Sonora Smart Dodd. That year Father’s day was celebrated on June 19,1910.


Sonora heard about Anna Jarvis has founded Mother’s day in honour of her mother and told the pastor of her church that their should be something similar to celebrate fathers too. Sonora’s father was Civil War Veteran, William Jackson Smart, a single parent from Arkansas who raised six childrens.

Sonora was hoping that Father’s Day celebrations would be held on June 5, which was her father’s birthday, but the church time constraints ended up pusing this day and the celebration was deffered to the third sunday of June.

Father’s Day isn’t just a day for dads to get more ties. It’s celebrated on the third Sunday of June to honor dads, grandfathers, step-dads and all men who act as a father figure. Like most holidays that go way back, the origin is hard to trace but most people will agree that Sonora Dodd played a big part in starting the holiday. This year Father’s Day is June 21st 2020!

On this day childrens acknowledge and their fathers and father figures who plays a important role in their lives , be it emotionally, mentally and even financially. On this day children understand the importance of the role of a fathers in one’s life. This day acknowledges the contribution of fathers in their own families and society at large.


Go ahead and do something special for your father this year. Write a blank thanku note , buy a gift for him or bake a cake at home, any gesture that you make to show your gratefulness towards him will surely make make him happy and proud to be your father.

Some people try to make this day special for their father and father-like figures.
Childrens buys or make presents for their father or fathers-figure like:-

• Many people celebrate this day by visiting their fathers.

• Write and draws cards and giving flowers.

• Spend the day by engaging the activities that can be enjoyed with one’s father.

• Be it hiking, fishing, or just sitting around watching some TV.

• And try to thank them for their contribution in making them who they are and how much they are important.

In India especially, most kids have a closer bond with their mothers ,so this day definitely helps forge a close relation with one’s dad.
